If yesterday’s MotoGP qualifying session at Laguna Seca was any indication on how todays’s race will go, it’ll be an affair between Yamaha vs Honda and two Spaniards, with Sachsenring winner Dani Pedrosa trying to quit Jorge Lorenzo from including to Yamaha’s 50th anniversary celebration after Ben Spies’ get at Assen.

Lorenzo has the burning and clockwork race tempo, even after his massive highside in FP3 (he forgot to downshift following disengaging his TC to get a practice start) and Pedrosa was the only 1 to match him, nevertheless he was much less constant in operating exactly the same times; however the Repsol Honda rider is recognized for pulling out 1 or two surprises from his RC212V on a race day. Points leader Casey Stoner will need to ride like a scalded cat to remain with these two, if he does not find these 1-2 tenths he’s missing whilst managing to help keep his tires intact for 32 laps.

Jorge lorenzo pole posotion said :“This pole position was unexpected for us after this morning, but thankfully I feel more pain walking than I do riding the bike. Of course I’m not in perfect condition on the bike and for sure I have to put more pressure on my arms and will get more tired. I think I was very lucky this morning that I had no big injuries. I think this pole position is for us an impressive result.”

We know who won’t be pulling from his hat an additional epic Laguna Seca battle, and that is Valentino Rossi. The Italian was convinced by crew chief Jeremy Burgess to stick to the GP11.one and in spite of qualifying 7th, Rossi cannot string 1.22 laps collectively even if his 15 million euro paycheck depended on it.
